Media University was founded in 2008 under the name HMKW – University of Applied Sciences for Media, Communication and Business. It is a private, state-recognized university of applied sciences, accredited by the Berlin Senate and FIBAA.
With campuses in Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt am Main, Media University has been part of the Paris-based European higher education network ADE since 2020.
The university offers practice-oriented, media-focused degree programs across the fields of Design, Journalism and Communication, Psychology and Business.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and execution-focused Strategy & Growth Manager to serve as a strategic partner to our CEO and leadership team during a period of rapid transformation.
This role is designed to drive high-impact strategic initiatives, ensure seamless cross-functional alignment, and amplify the executive team’s effectiveness to achieve ambitious growth targets. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, is a proactive problem-solver, and acts as a force multiplier for the entire organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the cross-functional introduction of new study programs from concept to launch (e.g. coordinate timelines, align requirements, manage risks and stakeholders).
- Lead the planning and set-up of a new campus in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders across the wider education group.
- Identify and validate new growth opportunities, such as new learner segments or new products/formats, and partner with Marketing and Sales to test and scale new go-to-market approaches.
- Build business cases for strategic initiatives and present clear recommendations to senior leadership.
- Lead the implementation of key operational improvement initiatives (e.g. introducing a new student management system), from requirements gathering to roll-out.
Your Profile
- 5+ years of experience in a business management or strategy consulting role, preferably within a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; comfortable building and challenging business cases and models.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in German (C1 level is a must) and English (French is a plus), with the ability to influence stakeholders and clearly articulate complex ideas.
- Structured, hands-on and solution-oriented working style with a strong ownership mindset.
- Versatile and resilient in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and „wear many hats
- Experience in the education sector is a plus, but not required – genuine interest in shaping the future of education is essential.
