RTL Hessen visits the Media University’s Frankfurt campus
Frankfurt am Main, 26 June 2026 – On Thursday 25 June, the Frankfurt Campus welcomed some high-profile guests from the media industry: Katrin Raap, Managing Director of RTL Hessen, and Leonie Dorn, Head of Online & Social Media, visited the university for an initial face-to-face meeting. They were welcomed by the DAA, Prof. Dr Sao-Wen Cheng, and Campus Manager Alexander Braun.
The meeting centred on an open discussion about possible avenues for future collaboration between the Media University and RTL Hessen. In a constructive atmosphere, common ground was identified, particularly at the interface between academic education and media practice. The Media University trains students on media-related degree programmes and sees itself as a practice-oriented institution with close links to the media industry. As a regional media company, RTL Hessen contributes valuable insights from journalistic and digital practice. Both sides discussed potential synergies that could strengthen the transfer of knowledge between the university and the media company in future.
Another key focus of the discussion was the physical proximity of the two institutions. Both the Media University’s Frankfurt campus and RTL Hessen are located in Frankfurt’s Bockenheim media district and are just a few minutes’ walk apart. This immediate proximity opens up additional opportunities for a more intensive professional exchange.
This first face-to-face meeting laid the foundations for further dialogue. The aim is to explore the potential for future collaboration, from which both students at the Media University and the regional media landscape in Frankfurt am Main can benefit in the long term.
