Background

Prof. Dr. Christian Möller holds a doctorate in media science and has been Professor of Corporate Communications at Media University in Berlin since October 2019. He teaches mainly in the international Master's program Public Relations & Digital Marketing.

After studying Media and Literature Studies, German Studies and Public Law at the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel, Möller was a project manager in the Office of the Representative on Freedom of the Media of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna, where he was primarily responsible for policy development in the area of online media freedom and internet governance and conducted numerous projects and conferences in the 57 OSCE participating states. He is one of the founding members of the Dynamic Coalition on Media Freedom Online at the UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2007 in Rio de Janeiro.

From 2008-2010 Möller was press spokesman for the U.S. Consulate General in Hamburg, and from 2010-2015 program manager at the Hamburg Foundation for Business Ethics. Since 2001 he has been a lecturer at the Media Department of the Kiel University of Applied Sciences, where he also heads the Institute for Applied Journalism (ifap). Since 2017, Möller has been a member of the Commission for the Determination of Financial Requirements of Public Broadcasting Corporations (KEF), and since 2012 he has been an honorary examiner at the Freiwillige Selbstkontrolle Fernsehen (FSF).
