Graduation ceremony at the Frankfurt campus
On October 23, 2025, the Media University’s Frankfurt/Main campus hosted its winter semester 2025 graduation ceremony. Around 100 guests- including students, professors, family, and friends- gathered at the campus on Solmsstraße to celebrate the graduates.
A festive start
In the afternoon, the university welcomed guests with aperitifs and musical accompaniment. Presenter Kai Walter opened the event with the ceremonial entrance of the graduates and professors.
President Prof. Dr. Lorenz Pöllmann welcomed the guests and praised the graduates‘ achievements in his speech. He emphasized that an academic degree is not the end of learning, but rather a demonstration of the ability to engage in lifelong learning. He called on the graduates not to passively endure transformations, but to actively shape them – in keeping with the motto “Make a Change.”
This was followed by a musical contribution from the Director of Academic Affairs at the Frankfurt campus, Prof. Dr. Sao-Wen Cheng.
Honors and awards
The graduates of the bachelor’s and master’s programs were then honored.
Among the highlights of the ceremony were the special prizes for the best theses. Prof. Dr. Sabine Schiffer gave a laudatory speech for Selina Groß, who was honored for her bachelor’s thesis. In her subsequent speech, graduate Selina Groß thanked her teachers, fellow students, and her family.
The award for the best master’s thesis went to Ekin Ünsal after a laudatory speech by Prof. Klaus Hübner, who highlighted Ekin Ünsal’s outstanding achievement. In her emotional speech, Ekin Ünsal looked back on her time as a student and encouraged the students to courageously follow their own path.
At the end of the ceremony, Kai Walter bid farewell to all those present. During the final group photo in the entrance area, the graduates once again took center stage for the traditional hat toss.
