BANG! Creative perspectives at the Cologne exhibition.
Works from the B.A. Graphic Design and Visual Communication, B.A. Game Design and Interactive Media, and M.A. programmes were on display. The Cologne exhibition on 6 and 7 February 2026 was a resounding success and was met with great enthusiasm by the numerous visitors. On the campus of Media University Cologne, the departments of Design and Journalism and Communication presented current projects and selected final theses.
Works from the B.A. Graphic Design and Visual Communication, B.A. Game Design and Interactive Media, and M.A. Communication Design and Creative Strategies programmes were on display. The exhibition offered a diverse insight into design fundamentals, visual concept development, UI/UX design, storytelling, animation, visual effects, future-oriented thinking, and the use of generative artificial intelligence.
The Cologne Werkschau 2026 impressively demonstrated the creative diversity, willingness to experiment and quality of the students‘ work. The interactive project workshops were particularly popular: visitors were able to glimpse into the future with specially illustrated tarot cards, play video games on the theme of ‘Think Positive’ or mix visuals live to music. The guided tour with the design professors on Saturday was also very well received and provided an opportunity for exchange and stimulating conversation. The consistently positive response and great interest confirmed the high quality of the work and the commitment of the students.
The Cologne exhibition impressively demonstrated how diverse, experimental and relevant design is today – and whetted the appetite for the future.
